On African women and alcohol during 1500-1800 in areas heavily involved in
the Atlantic slave trade, there isn't much in the secondary literature.
But take a look at, especially, the first two chapters in:

Jose C. Curto, "Alcohol and Slaves: The Luso-Brazilian Alcohol Commerce at
Mpinda, Luanda, and Benguela during the Atlantic Slave Trade c. 1480-1830
and Its IMpact on the Societies of West Central Africa," Ph. D.
dissertation, University of California at Los Angeles, 1996. 499 pgs.
