I have added a new file to my web page: Crothers, Rachel and Mrs.
Pat's Cocktail.  It has to do with the 1909 Saturday Evening Post article
cited in M,SU at 128n12.  I have now read the relevant scene of the
(unpublished) play.  The cocktail is not, I regret to say, a
Martini, but it is still of considerable interest for the social
history of this kind of alcoholic drink.
