Hey ALAS,

(Note: this is probabaly the longest email I'll ever write)

Well, as you all know we are nearing that time for CARNAVAL 2007 and we
all know that it's going to be the craziest and most fun event ever. I
have some very important information and request from ALAS so that we can
make this event a successful one.

So, that everyone is on the same page:
Date: Friday, March 2, 2007
Time: 6pm- 8pm
Location: Lower Alexander Dining Hall (connected to Clawson on Western
Campus)
Price: It will be $5 for admission

1.Carnaval the event: As of now, this is what will be happening at the
event and is tentative until I settle it with the company.

5pm-6pm -Set up lower Alexander. We will need ppl available at this time
to help set up the place so it looks Carnaval-ish.
6pm -Opening, Seating, Music playing, MC opening at 6:15pm
6:30pm -Dinner, more Music playing
7pm -Performance by the group
7:30pm -Performance continued / (Tables (if anyone is up for it) e.g salsa
lessons, samba lesson, mask making, Carnaval info table: optional)
8pm- MC closing

2. Publicity for the event: As you all know, we will definitly need to pub
this big time and I will not be able to do this all on my own so, we will
need as many of you to volunteer to post flyers, email ppl, etc. We need
to get every corner of Miami so a few places are:
-Academic Buildings
-The Kiosks around campus (there are about 10)
-Off-campus locations (e.g.Kroger, uptown, etc.)
-THE DORMS (Those that live in dorms and RA's....this means you)
   I will definitly need volunteers for this cause it's a lot. So, if you
are willing and able please email me or call or text so that I can
provide you with flyers and places where to pub. We have a week to pub
this event. (ps. also tell all of your friends).

3. Food: So that all of you are aware, we will be having Santo Domingo
Restaurant in Hamilton Cater the food that we will be eating that evening.
Mostly Chicken, Beef, Empanadas, Rice. So, come hungry!

It is important that we get people to volunteer so it wont be only a few
of us running around at the event. You have a week to decide. We would
great appreciate your help. As soon as I get further information, I'll
make sure to send it out.
