The time of year has come to begin planning for
the Perlmutter Leadership Conference. This annual conference is held in
the fall as both the inauguration of the Associated Student Government and
Residence Hall Association officers and a leadership development
opportunity for Miami students. The conference will be held this year on
Friday, September 17.

We are looking to form a committee of student volunteers who are
interested in leadership development. Volunteers will gain exposure to
event planning, meet other Miami students, and hone their leadership
skills.

Expectations for committee members include:
· Get involved! Committee members will plan the ASG/RHA inauguration,
find a keynote speaker, plan breakout sessions, select meals for the
banquet, and choose a conference theme.
· Regularly attend committee meetings (dates and times will be set once
the committee is formed).
· Work with fellow committee members to brainstorm ideas and create an
awesome leadership conference.
· Make a commitment to the conference. Planning begins in the spring and
will come to fruition in the fall. Committee members will be asked to
help with some of the legwork, as the conference gets closer.
· Have fun. Why be involved if you are not going to have fun?

The first committee meeting will be held on Thursday, February 12th at
2:00 p.m. in the Shriver Center, room 373.

Please RSVP to Matt Kitchie at 529-2701 or [log in to unmask] if you wish
to be part of this committee. Also, please forward this message to other
members in your organization you think should also be aware of this
opportunity. This is a great way for up and coming leaders to gain
practical experience.

We look forward to hearing from you and/or your organization's members!

Sincerely,

Matt Kitchie
