Hello,

Before I get started: The ASG Primary Elections are on Monday, and the General Elections are the following Monday
(3/6). It is important that you vote! The position of VP for Management is especially crucial to you, since that person
will be running the Event Funding Procedure next year. The two candidates are John Popelka and Ashwin Janakiram. You can
read everyone's statements at http://www.muohio.edu/asg , and I encourage you to check them all out! Please tell
everyone you know to vote! We have a great new online voting website: http://www.muohio.edu/asg/vote . Please pass the
word on!

On to business....

First of all, good news: The Funding Schedule is up and ready for signups!! Please go to the ASG office at 374 Shriver,
and after turning your form in, sign up for a 10-minute hearing (20 minutes if your request is more than $5000). My
apologies to those of you who have turned forms in without being able to sign up.

Second: I fixed the error that would not let you enter a negative number.

Third: If you know your current year's starting balance, then last year's revenues and expenses should calculate to that
amount. If they didn't, then you made a mistake and need to adjust last year's numbers accordingly.

Fourth: After looking at some of these forms, I fear that some of you either haven't attended the workshops or haven't
picked up on the difference between Administrative Funding (which is the ONLY thing that you are requesting at this
point) and the old funding procedure. It doesn't make much sense for all of your expenses to be the same or slightly
higher in EVERY category as your numbers for this year, unless your organization doesn't actually do anything that would
be considered an event... which would be odd.

When you see "travel" on the Adminsitrative Funding Request form, that is ONLY travel related to RUNNING an
organization.. for example, if you have to drive to Cincy for your martial arts trainer. This does NOT include travel
expenses to attend competitions. Those are events. See the difference?

I'm not going to give a slew of examples here, but generally speaking, almost all of the categories should contain
estimates for next year that are LOWER than your current and past amounts, due to the fact that funding for EVENTS will
be requested separately during the course of next year. For last year and this year, fine, throw everything in there,
but for next year, these requests should only be based on what it takes to run your organization.

PLEASE, please, please, if you were unable to attend a workshop, READ the explanation of the funding procedure that I
have sent out three times, passed out at the workshops, and made available outside the ASG office. It is completely
different than in the past. READ the instructions that are on the web page before you even get started. I've gone to
great lengths to explain the new procedure, and provide online help as you go along. Please use it!

And as always, if you have questions, contact me!
