Dear colleagues,

At the University of Northern Colorado, we are searching for an Assistant Professor of Chemical Education (tenure track). We will begin screening applications on October 26, 2016. The position requires ability to teach general chemistry and other undergraduate chemistry courses plus graduate course in chemical education. The successful candidate will also be expected to conduct mixed methods research involving graduate and undergraduate students, and ability to secure external funding. The position begins in August 2017.

Position Title: Assistant Professor – Chemical Education (tenure track)	Position No: F99716 

Job Summary: 
Assistant Professor, tenure-track, Chemical Education. This 9-month appointment requires an earned doctorate in chemical education or closely related field. The successful candidate will instruct graduate courses in chemical education, and undergraduate courses in general chemistry and other chemistry/science courses based on qualifications. In addition to providing service to the department, college and university, the successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong, nationally recognized and externally funded research program in chemical education research involving both undergraduate and graduate students. 

Minimum Qualifications: 
This position requires an earned doctorate in chemical education or closely related field with an emphasis in mixed-methods research. ABD will be considered if all degree requirements have been completed by the starting date. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate potential for teaching excellence, scholarly activity, ability to secure external funding, and an interest in serving the profession. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
Preference will be given to applicants with a strong background in chemistry, college-level teaching experience, and the ability to teach courses in a chemistry subdiscipline.

Salary and Benefits: 
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, life, and dental insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Dependents and spouses of UNC employees who are employed as 0.5 FTE or above are entitled to and eligible for Dependent Tuition Grants. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position. Opportunities for summer instruction may be available.

Additional Requirements: 
Satisfactory completion of a background check, educational check, and authorization to work in the United States is required after a conditional offer of employment has been made. The successful candidate must submit original transcripts within one (1) month of hire.

The University of Northern Colorado is a Doctoral/Research University enrolling 13,000+ graduate and undergraduate students. The university, founded in 1889, is located in Greeley, Colorado, which has a growing population of 100,000 and is situated an hour north of Denver and 30 miles east of the Rocky Mountains.
