We run a very short January term during which we only have a few
students on campus so I intend to upgrade at that time. I am currently
running 3.5.4 so I guess I will need to upgrade to 3.5.8 first, backup
my database, then do a clean install of 3.6 and then import the database
- I guess...
Anyway, does anyone have any idea how the force layer 2 functionality
works? I am real interested in this because we are trying to allow
students to bring their own wireless Aps as long as they can operate as
a bridge instead of a router - this sounds like it would allow us to
enforce that but it also sounds like it is implemented by the agent. I
am wondering how it works.
Thanks!

We are also going to upgrade next week. Recommendation from TAC is to
be at 3.5.7 or 3.5.8 before and test on a spare server. I am getting
ready to start that process

We are going 3.6 on December 21 Assuming I get approval (I probably
will) we
need some of the functionality it provides and cannot afford to do an
upgrade like this during the semester... As a fallback, however, we have
2
machines on "standby" that have CCA 3.5.5 sitting on them and they are
ready to go in case of bad stuff...
