Howard,

Yes, you will have to move the Win_98 and Win_ME pages above ALL for Win
98 and ME users to get those pages.

The other approach you could use is the following - if you only want to
allow XP (currently, for weblogin, all MCE/TabletPC/XP users are
identified as XP) and Win 2K users on the network, then you can set up 2
login pages for those users. And then set up another page for ALL that
does not allow people to login...

-Rajesh.

P.S. Of course, you will have to set up pages for Linux and MacOS users
as well.

Subject: User Pages

Take a look at User_Pages.jpg.

My question is if I move the user page for Windows_98 and Windows_ME
ahead of ALL will only Windows 98 and Windows ME clients get their
respective page and everyone else get the ALL page?

If the Answer to that question is Yes, my feature request would be to
allow multiple OS to be selected for one user page, e.g. Windows 95, 98,
ME and the ability to deny access to those OS. This should be doable in
a future version of CCA 4.0 since it's already doing OS checking?

RezNet dropped support for Windows 98 and ME and what I did was create a
new check that looks for a non-existent registry key, created a rule
that uses that check for Windows 98 and ME, placed it at the top of the
role-requirement list. Windows 98 and ME can authenticate but are placed
in the Temporary Role which allows them to run Windows Update and get
virus defs.

I'd like to do the same for Windows 95 and NT, however, at least in CCA
3.5.10 there doesn't seem to be the ability to associate those two OS to
a particular check or rule (See Add_Check.jpg)? NT4 is in the check list
and rule list, but no way to associate? This may be the same problem
people are experiencing now with CCA 4.0, but it's more pronounced now
that WMCE is being identified as such rather than XP? Basically the OS
that are not associated with a rule requirement can pass basic
authentication and get access. While I didn't see any Windows 95
machines logged in, I did see several Windows NT machines.

I apologize for being long winded and this topic was much discussed
previously for those that updated to CCA 4.0. I'm sure it is being
worked on feverishly, but wanted to add my limited knowledge and
experience.

I hope, no I pray, Rajesh and Alok do not become discouraged! Y'all
provide a valuable service and it is very much appreciated! :-)

Thanks, Howard
