I can't speak for Dell, but I ignore the advice and set our HP DL320s for
hardware RAID 0 with the ATA drives. I cloned our Manager for use in a test
network by pulling one of the mirrored drives and placing it in a spare chassis.
This is so useful/valuable that I really would recommend it to all. I saw no
troubles in installation using the hardware RAID settings, nor have I noticed a
problem related to ATA over SCSI drives. YMMV, of course.
