Wow, what an interesting topic...

I'm 30 and one of my roommates at Temple U. got me into the Connells
around 1989 - the days of Fun & Games. This guy also used to see REM
when they played small clubs. Ah, the good ol' days. Anyway, I'm happy
to say I've seen the 'Nells 3 or 4 times in Philly, once at the Stone
Pony in Asbury Park, NJ (the best show ever!) and once in NY City. After
the NYC show we came out and found six inches of snow had fallen, and I
had to drive for two hours back to central Jersey in a badly aligned '77
Nova while my friends passed out in the back seat! But it was worth it!

My favorite cover was the time in Philly when they played Bon Jovi's
"Dead or Alive." It was rather funny!

And didja know that there's a CD of Billboards Top Ten Alternative Songs
of 1990, and the Connells are on it? I think "One Simple Word" is the
tune.

Any other roadtrip stories or favorite cover stories out there?

Bill
