People in Denver have been saying Steve's birthday was Saturday, but
according to Doug it was Sunday. Steve had family in CO celebrating
early with him so that's probably what threw everyone off, but his
actual date of birth is 6/14...

Hi guys...

I joined the list about a week ago, after seeing the Connell's at the
Bluebird. Until this past week, all I'd heard from them was off of the
74-75 EP that I bought in Germany sometime ago. And Saturday, I
happened to notice that the Connells were playing at the Bluebird, and
just thought.. why the heck not? Anyway.. they were amazing... the
Bluebird is GA, so I managed to get fairly close to them. It was a fun
show, they were talking with the audience, and several of the audience
members bought them drinks. It was Steve Potak's birthday, and everyone
sang Happy Birthday to him at the encore. I'm not sure of all the
titles of the songs, I know they played "Still Life," opened with "Fun
and Games" and "74-75" and "New Boy." Anyway, it was a great show.. The
opener was Adrian Romero, a Denver local who kind of looked like Gilbert
Godfrey, and sounded like Dave Matthews... he was really good too..

That's my post... I'll go back into lurkdom now!
