I'm glad you said that, Alicia.  Some of the world's best bands started
out this way.  Widespread Panic is an example of that often happens to them
AFTER making the big time.  Most bands that originate this way are in
their prime when they are playing venues such as "frat parties."  In my
opinion, Widespread Panic has 'sold out' now that they've made it big
over the last few years.  The music seems pushed as if they are writing
songs for deadlines not for pure entertainment.  Another popular band
that fits this mold is Blues Traveler.  Their first album is much better
than their latest.  Of course, this is my humble opinion...
