Hey there to everyone. Last night the band came to st. louis to play to a
relatively sparse but enthusiastic crowd. A big storm had blown through
the area in the early everning, and that might have discouraged some
people from going to the concert. The show took place at the Galaxy, a
wide but narrow club that is not one of my favorites. It has lots of
space, but the shape of the club doesn't lead to great sound quality.

Far Too Jones opened, and they were good. They were nothing amazing, but
were enjoyable and put on a solid set. The club was really empty at this
point. By the time the connells came on, there was a decent amount of
people on the floor watching them. Still, i was able to walk right to the
front a bit before the band came on.

The set list was very similar to the ones they've been playing on the rest
of the tour. They played lots of new songs and a bunch from Ring. The new
songs all drew a decent response, though a lot of the crowd didn't seem to
know them. The best reaction came from Curly's Train, which sounded great.
Still Live and Soul Reacotr also got good responses. The biggest crowd
reactions came from Motel and Sal. There was a large group in the middle
of the crowd who went crazy during the songs played from Fun and Games.
They yelled for Sal during the entire show, and finally got it at th end.
Slackjawed also got the crowd going, and Stone Cold Yesterday ended the
set with the crowd in a frenzy. 74-75 also got an obviously good response.
It is really the only connells song that has gotten any airplay in st.
louis in the past.

The guys had a lot of fun at the show, with Doug being his usual goofy
self. Several times Mike looked at him and gave him a look like he had no
idea what Doug was doing. One odd moment occurred when the power went out
right in the middle of Get a Gun during the encore. Doug proceeded to
grab a flashlight and put it on George's guitar while he played the main
notes of the song. Doug said they could take a hint, and acted like that
was all. But they did play 2 more before finishing.

Overall, the set was strong. Though i would have loved to have heard
Scotty's Lament, Hats Off and Something to Say. Still, they put on a
great show and it was a fun night. Was anyone else from the list there?

Here's the setlist:

Fun and Games
Leper
Bruised
Maybe
Running Mary
Soul Reactor
Curly's Train
Gauntlet
Hey Wow
Doin' You

Encore:
