I'll have to side with both Jay and Ian on this one. I have been a
Connells fan since a friend of mine said 'Hey. You might like this new
album.' It was 'Boylan Heights' and it was brand-new. Now, because I
didn't know about them since 'Darker Days' I am not a true fan ? I lived
in Toledo, Ohio at that time - a vast music wasteland.
Well my first show was up in Ann Arbor, Michigan at the Blind Pig. I
would've been first in line, but this guy - Art Jipson ! - and his
girlfriend (was she your wife then, Art ?) beat me to it. That was their
first show. Are they not true fans ?
Before a show in Columbus, Ohio I asked either Mike or Dave (I forget !)
if they wanted to be popular. He didn't immediately answer and his final
answer wasn't a resounding 'YES !!!'. Obviously they struggle with it as
well. If The Connells get famous, I won't be able to sit out in front of
a dumpy theatre with a few of the guys, watching the Ohio State
homecoming parade.
No great answers. Just my thoughts.
Brett
