Well, although conversation certainly picked up during the album rock cover
song controvery, not to mention during the
let's-tell-a-little-about-ourselves portion, but it's dropped off a bit
now...
...So here's a new topic. Discuss...
Something I haven't seen tackled on the list is the sudden overseas success
that the Connells are experiencing. The reason for its non-discussion may be
that many don't know about it, but "'74-'75" has become a massive hit in many
countries around the world. In fact, it's been in the top ten in virtually
every major European chart, including, yes, the one in Belgium. At last
check, it was finally breaking into the top 20 into the U.K...which begs the
question, why, in this era of alternative success stories, have the Connells
not managed to break in their homeland? And the additional question is...if
it's breaking so big in all the other lands of the world, why hasn't TVT
jumped on the bandwagon and released it as a single here? "New Boy" is all
fine and well, but if "'74-'75" is showing the commercial potential...
Okay, go at it!
