Since some folks are asking. This list grew out of my love for the
Connells (in fact, I am listening to One Simple Word right now as I write
this). We started the list over a year and a half ago. The list grew out
of a digest that I mailed to fellow Connells fans (old issues can be found
on the web site). The list of people interested grew so fast that I could
not keep up. So, I created a listserv list. Since then the membership has
skyrocketed and on many occasions we have broken 200+ members.
The conversation, as with all lists, has ebbed and flowed. We have created
(starting with Bob Jones and then me) a web site to further our devotion
and ability to spread information. I am trying to embed songs onto the
page and am adding tour dates, photos, and other things as time allows. I
have to say that I think the Connells are the most underappreciated
American band currently "out there." Lyrics that are meaningful with song
structures that are fluid and pregnant with hooks and catchy melodies -
yes, I even love WFAD!
We often have members of the Connells read the list - so ask away. Those
of us on the list try to answer as many questions as we can. I would
encourage people to raise questions and issues about the Connells on the
list. I would also encourage people to use the list as a mechanism to help
spread the word on America's most underappreciated band.
Well, I think I have said plenty for tonight - besides I need to get home
to my new baby!
take care everyone and keep the faith!!
