Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It's been a pleasure coordinating the meetings of our early-modern group
this year.  We had a great range of excellent papers and discussions.
Thanks to all who participated.

Looking ahead at next year--and before it begins to loom all too
threateningly--I like to ask you all for (self-)nominations for a new
moderator.  I will be on leave next year; and I also think it's healthy for
the group to have new leadership.  It's really not that much work; and, as
many of you know, the effort pays off in many ways.  Anyone interested?
