I believe that the sermon was the most interesting part of the story. The Pardoner sets himself apart, not just through his sermon but the use of the language. He contradicts his own religion and himself. It's safe to say that actions speak louder than words because he may talk a good game, but he still acts on his sins and desires. His sermon reminded me of those televised evangelists late night that speak of Miracles, but at the same time selling their souls to the Devil. It's interesting to me how people could act on their desires, knowing that morally it's incomprehensible.
