We do satellite downlinks all the time at St. Thomas, (12-14 a year). We have
done them on-campus in an auditorium or tiered classroom. We also do them
off-site in hotels, rented auditoriums and we even tried a shopping mall!

Our response has been very well. A typical satellite will pull in 50-70
participants and a big name speaker, (Blanchard, Covey, Drucker), in excess of
100.

The biggest problem I have is the interactive portion. Particpants can call or
fax in questions and so suppose that if your in a conference room with a speaker
phone its works but for a large audience its nearly impossible to to have them
call in. We do suggest/request that the audience write down their questions and
we fgac them in. This can be a hit or miss situation also depending if you can
get through on the fax line.
