MCIS Technical Support staff have been investigating the reported problems
with local NetNews postings not making it out of Miami to the outside world.
 
So far Kent Covert has confirmed with Ohio State University (both directly
and indirectly) that NetNews postings from Miami are, in fact, being received
at Ohio State (the next news site "upstream" of Miami toward the greater
USENET universe), and that those postings are, in fact, being passed on
through to the other news sites "upstream" from OSU.  Using accounts at other
institutions, I too have seen postings to general newsgroups from folks here
at Miami.
 
If anyone has specific instances of postings they've made to non-mu.*
newsgroups which they have reason to believe have not arrived at other news
sites, please contact Kent with all the particulars at [log in to unmask]
