This is all good. I had the same question about the MUP book coming out of the conference. As you know, I'm not volunteering to edit that, so it's not my call, but I'd think we'd want creative work and a few essays, perhaps bumped up from conference papers, plus an intro. But your remark does lead me to wonder if there's a way we can invite creative panels. We'll have some invited readers, presumably, and perhaps some late night readings. Do we want more by way of creative panels?

I do like it that the call makes no promises in re the book—that's key.

Keith

I made a few edits:

1) In the first paragraph, "land...is blooming" looks like a mixed metaphor, unless land is something that blooms, in which case I apologize.

2) 4th paragraph, separated writers who might be discussed into one sentence, and the forms discussed into another. Took out the semicolons in the list of writers but kept them in the forms sentence.

3) 3rd paragraph, changed "We are calling for proposals for papers and panels about short form and about short form as a field of historical and contemporary..." --which uses "about short form" twice--to, "We are calling for proposals for papers and panels about short form and its place within historical and contemporary..." Also that popping p in the sentence might be looked at.

3) Question: so we're looking primarily for scholarly works, and thus the anthology that comes out will be a kind of critical reader? Or are we looking for creative as well as scholarly submissions/proposals?

Humbly submitted,
Jody
