Hi, All--
The Stivers school students will visit once again and are available to meet with us between 1:30 and 3 on Tuesday, March 20. Last year, the group split up: some visited Cathy's classroom and some met with our undergraduates in Bachelor Reading Room. The Stivers students read their work and talked with the undergrads. We had good reports afterwards that the Stivers kids enjoyed interacting with our students, and our students were very impressed with the work of the Stivers students.
Anyway, if anyone is teaching during that time, it might make for a nice classroom activity of some kind. Let me know if you're willing to participate in any way. For those of you who don't know, Stivers is an arts magnet school in inner-city Dayton. The school takes sophomores to a number of college campuses for visits, to get them to start thinking about college as a possibility. It's good for us and good for them, I think.
Let me know as soon as possible if you're interested in participating--also if you have any students who might be interested, too.
