Miami University's Instructional & Networking UNIX platform, the
IBM RS/6000 known as Rose.MUOhio.Edu, will be unavailable tomorrow,
Saturday, 1 April 1995, from 9am until 12 noon, for installation of
additional hardware (disk drives) by IBM.
Services hosted on Rose which will be unavailable during this
period primarily include:
* the Miami University Directory Server (ph/qi)
This means that delivery of incoming e-mail addressed
to [log in to unmask] will be delayed a few hours.
No mail will be lost. It will be queued at the remote
site, and will be delivered to and processed by ph/qi
as soon as Rose becomes available again.
* some World Wide Web (WWW) support tools
These include access counters and other usage measurement
tools, and directory server query tools.
* some World Wide Web (WWW) server data
Specifically, the M-Media Software Archive.
MCIS regrets any inconvenience this necessary service outage may
cause.
