Problem with PPP Win3.11 dial-up

I tried installing the MUNet PPP Dial-up for Windows 3.1x on my girlfriend's
machine (gormans1), a 486DX (40 Mhz) with 8 Mb RAM and more than enough disk
space.  The installation went just fine, but when I restarted her computer and
told it to load the PPP drivers, it starts to load Windows (3.11 for
Workgroups), shows the blue startup screen, then blanks the screen and leaves a
cursor there, and doesn't go any farther.  Her modem is a 14.4kbps internal in
COM2.  Any ideas?  Thanks!  Later,
