First, I assume you meant to type "134.53.253.1".
134.53.253.1, or musrv.muohio.edu, has nothing to do with dial-up PPP
specifically. It is the university's nameserver, the machine that lets you
telnet to miamiu.muohio.edu instead of having to remember 134.53.7.2.
Dial-up PPP is checked against NDS.
I bet Boyd -hey, Boyd- could tell us all the quickest way to test the validity
of our Novell accounts...
