Gabe Leidy and I had spectacular views of the Brown Pelican this am as it sat on the breakwall and then put on a diving/fishing show in the harbor. Soon after, it attempted to catch a thermal and got quite high to the WNW of Wendy Park, and later, was feeding a mile + offshore Lakewood/Edgewater. Many reports this afternoon put it back on the Wendy Park breakwall but this bird is acting more and more adventurous....

We had the summering Glaucous Gull (near adult except for dark mark on bill) on the western part of the outer breakwall, from Wendy Park.

Bobolinks, meadowlarks and Savannah Sparrows continue at the extreme east end of Burke Lakefront Airport, even though mowing has wiped out 75% of available nesting habitat.
