An adult Merlin buzzed my feeder birds today while I was working outside.
They were very vocal when it flew in. They flushed in all directions, and
then they didn't return for a while. The Merlin left without lunch.

A single male Purple Finch showed up at my feeder last Tuesday. Tree
Sparrows arrived Saturday. Juncos have been here for a while, now. Sunday,
during the snow storm, at least 10 Purple Finches were here. It was a
feeding frenzy right before the snow hit, with lots of birds flying to and
from the feeder for at least an hour, so it was tough to keep track of
everything. There may have been more Purple Finches, but a max of ten were
at the feeders at the same time.
