Denison was warm and muggy this morning sounds didn’t bird long. Bird activity low—almost all presumed nesting birds.

A chat greeted me and perched a short time. Except for brief looks at Yellows and Com YTs, other warblers heard only: KY, Blue-winged, Prairie. I also heard a Hooded which oddly, is a warbler I don’t see or hear often at the reserve. KYs are much easier to find there. In the past, I’ve been told there were more Hoodeds but after a windstorm took down a number of big trees a few years ago, their numbers seemed to decline.

Other heard birds:
E Kingbird
Wood Thrush
Swainson’s Thrush (saw this one)
White-eyed Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo
BG Gnatcatcher

Wood Duck hen still with 4 ducklings.
