Stuck closer to home, I made the best of it by visiting some Scioto & Olentangy River Parks in the early morning (Berliner, Long St. Dam, Olentangy Wetlands Research Area, Whetstone Park), then cooled off in the ravines (Overbrook, Walhalla, and Glen Echo) as the morning turned hot. Nothing astounding, but a good list for urban birding in June. Notables included:

Yellow-crowned Night Heron - an adult was fishing below the Greenlawn dam, a spot from which they've been absent for nearly 10 years. Could there be a nest nearby?

Spotted Sandpiper - cannot shake these little guys. One was roaming around the drying Olentangy Research wetlands.

Bald Eagle - an adult was perched overlooking the Scioto in Berliner Park, not far north of the nest down in the quarries area.

Warblers - two Prothonotaries were singing in the riparian woods along the Scioto in Berliner Park, and one had a female foraging, probably for the benefit of hidden nestlings. A Yellow-throated warbler was feeding a fledgeling at the Olenbtangy Wetland RA, and singing Parulas were at both Whetstone Park & Overbrook ravine. Last but not least, a Yellow-breasted Chat was very out-of-place singing around the Olentangy Wetland RA.
