We went down to Slate Run for a quick hike this morning, and were
pleasantly surprised to see three sandhill cranes there -- most likely, the
breeding pair from last year (and years before) along with last year's
colt.  A flotilla of Canada geese sounded the alarm before we could get too
close, but I was able to take some pictures as they flew overhead and
finally landed somewhat farther away:
