Mission accomplished--finally got reasonably good looks at 2 Henslow's Sparrows this AM. One was esp cooperative by singing from his perch. I had a Grasshopper Sparrow in the same area, also singing from a perch so it was a nice comparison.

Not close enuf for photos but I'm glad to have finally seen it--I've heard them a few different places in OH but wanted to see the bird. I've only seen Henslow's once & that was in nj many yrs ago.

Also picked up my OH Blue Grosbeak, a nice male.

Cloud cover kept the temps/humidity tolerable but still pretty uncomfortable. Lovely area altho some sketchy folks in a pick-up cruised by a few times, enuf to make me a bit nervous so I stayed near my car. They finally disappeared.

Not a lot of bird variety but many E Meadowlarks, good look at a Chat, E Kingbird, female Wood Duck, field sparrow, song sparrow, e peewee, brown thrasher, R-W Blkbirds, com yellowthroat, indigo bunting, am goldfinch, tree & rough-winged swallows, chimney swifts in Zanesville, Great Blue Heron. An Am Kestrel was a nice find, had another driving back on rt 22. Heard Y-B cuckoo. TVs of course.

A deer w/2 spotted fawns was a treat as well.
