Hi all, Thought I'd make a report from far southern Ohio. Barred Owls have been calling consistently from up in our woods along with the occasional Pileated Woodpecker. Our pair of Bluebirds has been back for awhile now and is actively nest building. Was pleased to have a pair of Tree Swallows nest in our yard last spring and they came back a couple of days ago again. A pair of Northern Flickers have been actively feeding and chasing each other around the yard and woods. Juncos and WT Sparrows are still hanging around the yard and feeders. A single male and a single female Purple Finch occasionally show up at the feeders although never at the same time. Other than that..... lots of the common birds doing their spring thing.
Some photos at http://www.pbase.com/dhfreriks/new_photos if anyone would like to look.
