Today was just a BEAUTIFUL day for the 37th Walk with Nature along the
Miami-Erie Canal from St Marys to the Forty Acre Pond.
Along the trail we saw many Cedar Waxwings, Yellow Rumps, N Flicker, and
Robins. And we probably missed many others but the trail was busy and noisy
with hikers.

Yesterday, the Dave Dister graciously allowed me to join his Audubon group
from Dayton at the St Marys Fish Hatchery.
There, we saw, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Least Sandpipers, Longbilled
Dowitcher, Killdeer, Ringbilled Gulls, a Franklin Gull, Redtail Hawk, Double
crested Cormorants, Bairds Sandpiper, Pectoral sandpiper and MANY Tree
Swallows and a Chimney Swift surprised us. Today, the fish hatchery was
barren! No LSB's!

We also saw a bird of different plumage. I'll try to attach the photo (which
isn't very good - but maybe you can see well enough to advise as to its
species!) --- OK, I'll post it (try to) on the OOS site. Sorry.

Oh, by the way, our TWO Bald Eagle nests are beginning to remodel their
nests!! And the immatures are still hanging around, waiting for their travel
itineraries and visas.
