The reserve was quite lively this morning from when the sun hit the tree line and kept up until nearly 10 when the spigot suddenly turned off. What was especially nice was that many warblers were lower down so they were easier to enjoy/ID. There also seemed more instances where 2 to 4 warblers of the same species were foraging together. I also had 2 Brown Thrashers eating grapes in close proximity to one another. A Swainson’s Thrush was in the same area. (I forgot to mention I saw a Swainsons thrush yesterday as well.)

They were a few Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, some of which were singing softly in addition to their sharp call note.

One Ruby-crowned Kinglet. Lots of catbirds. Song & Field Sparrows. House Wrens.

I think this is probably the most species of warblers I’ve had in one outing in the fall and I know I missed a few!
