*HIKE*: Red Lock Trailhead south to Merriman Valley. *TIME*: 7:30am -
4:25pm *TEMP.*: 28 ~ 32
*COND.*: Cloudy with steady flurries until 11:30am; then partly sunny with
blue skies until 1:30pm, then mostly cloudy;
Brandywine Pond and Dover Pond ice-free, Ira Beaver Marsh covered with
skim-ice with only one small open area.
*TRAIL COND.*: About a half-inch of fresh snow at start, melting away and
thawing, making trail wet and sloppy heading south.
*RIVER COND.*: Slightly above normal. OBS.: John Henry and Douglas W.
Vogus.
*I. MAMMALS*: 5 SPECIES.
