Led a Lake Metroparks Bird Walk this morning at Lake Erie Bluffs (Lake County) and had excellent views of a hunting Merlin. Seen with a freshly killed Golden-crowned Kinglet which it clumsily dropped while trying to eat it, then it chased a Northern Flicker through the trees along the lake, then it swopped out over the lake to make three dives at a lucky passerine that made it to shore. This bird was seen about a week ago too. Today it was seen in the trees, often perching on the dead trees, from the shelter to the campsite.
