Made a couple quick car-birding stops yesterday.
Summit Lake (downtown Akron) had one section of open water on the west side:
American Coots
Mallards
Common Goldeneye - 1
American Black Duck - 2
Northern Shovelers
Ruddy Ducks
Pied Billed Grebe - 3
Canada Geese
American Crow - 3 of which were walking on the ice. Is that "normal"?
House Finches
Dark Eyed Juncos
Song Sparrows
European Starlings
House Sparrows
Cuyahoga Valley National Park - Bolanz Road Bridge + field viewed from
parking lot:
11 Common Mergansers in river just north of the bridge.
Spent a very short time looking in the field, so likely missed some birds:
Canada Geese
American Crows
Blue Jays
Northern Cardinals
Song Sparrows
Dark Eyed Juncos
Tree Sparrows - one of which was "perched" on a Canada Goose
Blue Jays
Horned Larks
European Starlings
Renee
