But no Scoters. I found it interesting that each species was by itself in a tiny
group. For example - 25 Coot - a tight mass. Hard to count! 8 Horned Grebes -
a looser flock. 5 Lesser Scaup - one line. Etc. Etc.
This was Harveysburg Rd. - my favorite spot for scanning for waterfowl here.
Learning my favorites! Been about a year now.
I hit the New Burlington Rd. area of Caesar creek next. Hoping for sparrows.
Hardly anything. No idea why. Habitat looks great! I ran into a small feeding
flock as I was almost back to my car. 2 more Purple Finches! They are moving!
Nature notes - one clouded sulphur. The trees were beautiful! Peak
color for those that turned. I did see many bare trees also.
Harris's Sparrow notes - if the Franklin county one is reported fairly
early - I can chase! Fingers crossed.
