Bill W. mentions in his lengthy email that "Yes, they are hard to survey,
and they reek, but odd nesting species are to be found there." Well indeed,
this spring we had a red-tailed hawk commandeer a heron nest in a rookery of
about 25.  The neighbors were clearly not thrilled, a good bit of noise of
snapping and grunting, but you have to pay for the great views out over Ohio
Brush Creek.  Location, location, location. .
