I got a later start than I had wanted. There was a fresh layer of
snow on the roads in Cin. I waited until my little cul-de-sac was clear,
figuring everything else would be. Yes!

Some highlights on this cold, but sunny day -

East Fork Reservoir was open water. great! But no waterfowl.
Not great. I read 2 Goldeneyes at Cowan state park in Clinton.
And that was mostly frozen..... Go figure! I did find Bonapartes
Gulls at east fork. That is my spot for Bonies for sure. Little else
here. I thought maybe sparrows along the road edges. No.

Brown county farm fields - I couldn't find any Horned Larks!
And I did stop and scan several likely looking spots! Strange....

I made it to Eagle Creek wildlife area. Looks good, but slow today.
I'll try again in March. The county did a very nice job clearing
the roads. Those roads are hilly and narrow in that area, but dry
as can be today!

I was disappointed at no lark flocks in Brown - they must be around,
I just need to find the right area! - that I went home via Hawley Rd.
in clermont. It was out of the way. But wow! I like numbers.
No Snow Bunting. But 420 Horned Larks. And 32 Lapland Longspurs.
I guess I didn't have to worry about Longspur for the big year!

Most stuff was on the east side - across the road from the work buildings.
And did I manage a great shot of a Longspur?? No...... Those birds were
moving like crazy. The traffic along that road was the greatest I have
seen. And just when the flocks would settle down, another car would come
along and flush them....

Good birding all.
