And do not forget that if you can spare an hour or two during your visit
to Crane Creek/Maggee marsh (CC/MM) to pitch in and pull some garlic
mustard.

Every forest floor sulking bird (dare we speak its New England themed
name) is due in no small part to the many volunteers who took the time to
pull some garlic Mustard.

I know most of the folks that are visiting CC/MM have precious free time
during the limited time they are birding, but please check in with
ODRN/ODW at the visitors center and see when it will be pulled.

We have birded CC/MM for over 25 years, and for the folks that can
remember after the march flood just how thick garlic mustard was you would
never see the ground birds. Just the way the weeds moved as they hopped or
walked on the forest floor. We all owe a debt to the Friends of Maggee
Marsh who started the pulling program.

So please on a slow birding day say a few days after the SW winds have
been shut down. Take the time to pull if the birding is slow.
