While most birders were headed to the lake, we joined a friend and headed south to bird Tar Hollow State Park and Forest for the weekend.  The birds seem to be at their peak.  Great Weekend!

Pileated Woodpecker - they were everywhere
Red-headed Woodpecker - first we have ever seen at Tar Hollow

White-eyed, Yellow-throated, Blue-headed and Red-eyed Vireo
25 Warblers

Scarlet Tanagers - in flame red and everywhere
We stopped counting towhee at about 30.
