Quick highlights from Lorain Co for Dane Adams, Emil Bacik, and I:
At Oberlin Reservoir, thirty or so miles south of Lake Erie, we encountered a "mini-E 72nd St" situation. Incredibly, here were the highlights: THAYER'S, ICELAND (3), LESSER BLACK-BACKED (8), and GLAUCOUS (6) Gulls. Photos of some of these species appear at http://flickr.com/photos/28939750@N05/?saved=1
A ROSS'S GOOSE in a front yard pond along West Rd, just south of Caley National Wildlife Woods was another highlight. This bird was discovered in this area a week ago by Marian Kraus, per Larry Rosche.
Killdeer, TRurkey Vulture, and multiple harriers and Rough-legged Hawks were viewed throughout the day.
Good birding -
