Hi All,
I haven't had a chance to go in search of the Y-C Night Heron yet this year. I think someone else may have mentioned this already, but if you strike out on Preston Rd. it may be worth scanning the Alum Creek from nearby Park Rd. or Nelson Rd. (see: https://goo.gl/maps/fdGJj).
A few years ago, when the nests were more active, I saw the adults actively fishing along that creek even while a large group of kids and parents played in the Wolfe Park lawn between Park road and the creek.
Hope this helps,
Casey Tucker

> I got to Preston Road after the rain. With careful checking and re-checking I could not find the bird. I left at 4:15. As consolation, I heard a Kentucky Warbler singing at the North end of Preston.
