Charlie Bombaci in an earlier post today mentioned seeing Black Vultures near Hoover Reservoir in higher numbers than he had seen before.

Adding to his observation, since moving out to Clark County, I have seen a roost of Black Vultures regularly at the west edge of Springfield, at the cell phone tower along Upper Valley Pike Rd near OH-41, right across from the McDonald's there. A week ago I saw 31 of them there, getting ready for the night perched on the tower. I've also seen a Peregrine Falcon there on occasion (not at the same time as the Black Vultures though).

I was fortunate enough to see 6 from this roost in the Clark County Christmas Bird Count last month.

Good Birding,
