Sitting in family room, I glanced out the window and saw quick movement in a neighbor’s tangle of Japanese Honeysuckle. First thought was a kinglet. I hunted around for bins and was able to spot a brightish patch of yellow on the head. Out to the back deck where I watched the female/first year Black-throated Green Warbler work it’s way through the bushes, 8 to 15 feet above the ground for nearly ten minutes. Yellow-green face patch, olive-green back, sharp warbler bill. Only a little dark streaking on sides of chest against wings, light/white underparts. Right across the street from Gables Elementary School in northwest Columbus, OH.
