As Cleveland area birders may have read in the papers recently, Oakwood Golf
Course is for sale in Cleveland Heights/South Euclid. There are efforts in
play to turn this land into a park.

Those of us who love wildlife are excited for this opportunity, but it will
take a major effort because the cities do not have money to buy the land.

I, myself, am not in a position to gather up and provide all the details at
the moment, but I wanted to make interested locals aware of a meeting
sponsored by the Severance Neighborhood Organization
(www.heightsSNO.org<http://www.heightssno.org/>)
at the Cleveland Heights Community Center this *Wednesday, February 3rd
from 7:30 - 9:00 PM. *I believe there is a Facebook page being created
which will be one way to share information about this opportunity.
**
Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a group of voices attend the meeting in
support of conservation and also to speak to the economic impact of birders
as well? To support that, we can certainly cite some facts from the
discussion of birder cards going on in another thread today. :)

Thanks!
