Final tally for 2020 in Lawrence County... 200! A number I really wanted to reach,l for a single year, but wasn’t sure if was possible. Did it, had a great year, now... A New Year, brings a New Year List!

Day 2 of 2021 was one a good one. I visited Anderson Meadows this afternoon and right before dark I was able to watch a Short-eared Owl very briefly right before dark. County bird #209 and a bird I’ve been trying to locate in Lawrence County for what seems like forever. I tried to relocate the bird once it flew out of sight with no success. I hope to follow up and make it back here soon to try and get photos of the SEOW and possibly others if they’re in the area?

Other highlights:
American Woodcock
Barred Owl
Norther Harrier (2 males)
Red-breasted Nuthatch (3)
American Tree Sparrow (9)

Good birding,
