I also want to thank Rob Thorn for the Calamus Swamp post. Like a previous poster, I hadn't heard of it before his post.
My wife and I went down about 11:00 a.m. today.
Saw 2 Kestrels and 2 Red-tailed Hawks along 104 as we were heading south from Columbus.
Made a wrong turn off 104 and saw Horned Larks in the field.
Arrived at Calamus and first bird we saw was a Bald Eagle perched in a tall tree overlooking the swamp.
We walked the boardwalk and saw...
1 Hermit Thrush
8+ Swamp Sparrows
2 or 3 Winter Wrens
2 Carolina Wrens
Numerous White-throated Sparrows
Carolina Chickadees, Downy Woodpeckers, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Crows, 2 Red-bellied Woodpeckers, Tufted Titmice, small flock of Robins
