With the cold temperatures and gusty winds we have been experiencing on the islands, we have been inundated with Kinglets-mostly golden-crowned but some ruby-crowned. They are on the ground and low trying to feed-seeing twenty at a time in some locations-at Scheeff East Point, Massie Cliffside Preserve and other places.

There are also lots of yellow rumped warblers and dark-eyed juncoes on the ground feeding. Saw flock of tree sparrows on the ground at the Massie Cliffside Preserve.

There were over 60 tree swallows huddled low in a tree right by the shore at the Scheeff East Point Preserve as well as many more flying low over the water trying to feed.

Bonapartes gulls, common goldeneye, bufflehead, and red-breasted mergansers offshore.
